RELEASED MARCH 18, 2025

A Book About Letting Go of What Doesn’t Matter — And Leading From What Does

The Empty Path explores how lessening—of noise, ego, urgency, and unnecessary striving—creates greater clarity, purpose, and connection. It’s a book for leaders, seekers, and anyone trying to live and work in a more grounded, meaningful way.

This is not a book about doing more.
It’s a book about creating space.
Space for better decisions, clearer relationships, and a deeper sense of what matters.

Why I Wrote This Book

After 20+ years advising national leaders, founding a successful consulting firm, serving on multiple boards, and practicing Zen and mindfulness, I noticed a common truth:

Most leaders aren’t suffering from a lack of ideas — they’re suffering from too much noise.

This book grew out of years of conversations with executives, students, and communities searching for:

  • Clarity
  • Steadiness
  • Alignment
  • Meaningful work
  • A life not dominated by urgency

The Empty Path offers a way to step back, breathe, and reconnect with what’s essential.

"Billy Wynne has masterfully written a book that is an expression of the empty path itself and at the same time a guidebook for the journey. With the lessening that Wynne refers to, a lightness of being and innate joy come to life. This book is at once wise and inspiring, tender and loving. It will open your heart."

“An engaging, practical and readable guide to the mystery at the heart of every ordinary moment – the ‘emptiness’ that Mahayana Buddhism considers the most important thing there is, even though it's not a ‘thing’ at all. Yet it's the heart of who and what we are, the groundless ground of all our being. Billy Wynne makes tastes of it accessible in this enjoyable offering."

“In a book filled with honesty and heart, Billy Wynne introduces the path of awareness and inquiry through the lens of his own life story, intensely intimate yet, at the same time, universal and accessible. For each area of focus, a guided meditation supports the healing practice of making real the spiritual life already embedded in our life of today.”
